Goals and Objectives
The primary mission and goal of our program is to meet the needs of the legal community by educating and graduating ethical and competent paralegals. Each graduate will be prepared to serve in both public and private environments and ready to adapt to the ever-changing legal landscape.
Upon completion of this program, graduates should be able to:
1. Professionalism: Display professionalism as a detail-oriented member of a legal team, including strong work ethic, the ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
2. Ethics: Understand and act in accordance with the relevant ethical and legal obligations of a paralegal.
3. Communication: Communicate appropriately and professionally, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to conduct interviews and draft pleadings, motions, forms, contracts, and correspondence.
4. Legal Technology: Be proficient with the latest technology and software utilized by the legal community.
5. Legal Research: Demonstrate the research and investigative skills needed to analyze fact patterns; identify legal issues; and proficiently locate, apply and cite law.
6. Critical Thinking, Analysis and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate effective legal knowledge and practical skills necessary to perform substantive legal work under the direction of an attorney.
